MARSHALL LAWRENCE LEWIS

MARSHALL LAWRENCE LEWIS

Marshall Lawrence Lewis 1947-2025 With solemn hearts we announce the passing of Marshall Lawrence Lewis of Heidenheimer after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. His presence will be deeply missed, having departed on Monday April 28, 2025, at the age of 77. As we bid farewell to our Brother, we will cherish his memories held dear -the jokes, the laughter, the wisdom, the willingness to help others and his giving heart. Though Marshall may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace and the light of his enduring love. Born on December 31, 1947, in Rosebud, Texas to the late David Thomas Lewis and Maybell Kelsey Lewis. Marshall graduated from Rosebud High School in 1966. After graduation, he joined the United States Army. Marshall was a strong, hardworking man and a jack of all trades; he worked a day job and farmed at night until he retired from Wilson Art and Budweiser. He farmed and raised cattle and sheep full time. His greatest passion was working on his farm; plowing and raking to make bales upon bales of hay. He is well known for the quality of his crop and the abundant harvest he produced year after year. He was proud of this accomplishment. He spent most of his time on the land that he loved and it loved him back; it produced fine crops and a yearly abundant harvest. He is survived by two daughters, DeAnna (Dena) Lewis, Shasta and husband Adam Renfrow and a son Larry Ryan Lewis. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Uptmore, Patsy Dorner, David (Buddy) and wife Evelyn Lewis, Sylvia and husband Freddie Mulsow and Glenda and husband John McLerran. He is preceded in death by his parents David and Maybell Lewis, son DeWayne Thorpe, niece Stacey Mulsow and nephew Nathan Sodek. Visitation will be held one hour before the services. The service will be held at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home at Rosebud on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Don Fulton will officiate. Burial will follow at Powers Chapel Cemetery on FM 2027, Rosebud, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marshall’s memory to: Pancreatic Cancer Foundation 3 Bethesda Metro Center, Suite 700 Bethesda, MD 20814 May Peace be with You, Marshall

RUTH LANELL LORENZ DOSKOCIL

RUTH LANELL LORENZ DOSKOCIL

Ruth LaNell Lorenz Doskocil was born November 4, 1952, to Leon and Hilda Schmidt Lorenz in Rosebud, Tx, and passed away to her eternal home on April 21, 2025 after a short illness, with her loved ones by her side. Ruth grew up in the community of Barclay and graduated from Rosebud- Lott High School in 1971. Ruth met her high school sweetheart Larry at a dance in Westphalia, and after getting Larry to dance, and dating for a time, they were married on May 26, 1974. From that day forward they spent the next 51 years walking side by side. They spent the early years working together in the Doskocil family cotton gin while also starting their Land Conservation business which they continued to operate and grow over her entire life. They did all that while raising their four lively children. Life could be busy, but they did it all together and were the truest example of partners. She was a longtime member of The Church of the Visitation Catholic Church in Westphalia, TX and Ruth had the heart of a servant. Whether she was serving as a county election judge, working at school fairs and events for her children, serving on the altar society as well as an officer, or cooking at as many church functions as needed, she knew what it meant to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
