John Proctor celebrated his 80th birthday on Cinco de Mayo at the Senior Center in Rosebud with family and friends from California and Texas.

Gov. Greg Abbott activated state emergency response resources earlier this week as a major storm system targeted Rosebud and the broader Central Texas region.

Last week, a pipeline near the area of the Rosebud-Lott School District started to leak, raising safety concerns. The Falls County Sheriff’s Department released a statement regarding the leak, the district said, letting the community know that the pipeline leak was not a threat to the safety of the students, staff or parents.
