Rosebud Citywide Garage Sale Draws a Crowd

A personal aircraft was forced to make a crash landing near Chilton after engine trouble mid-flight around 5:30 am on Monday, Oct. 27. The plane, A Denney Kitfox III airplane according to a preliminary report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and wings, but pilot and passenger sustained no injuries.
After three years of holding the garage sale at Greg and Marla Wallace’s pavilion on Main St., Preservation Rosebud members decided to move their location to the museum on N. Second St. to be near the center of the action. The October 30 workday was held to assemble and price items. Les and Fran Heugatter, La Verne Withers, Joe and Sharon Saunders, and Greg and Marla Wallace got every- thing organized with La Verne Withers leading the way with her expert pricing skills.
Many of the areas teams are coming off tournament play from the previous weekend, only to turn around and do it again this past weekend. We even have a team (Rosebud-Lott Lady Cougars) competing as far away as Hawaii! That’s – let me calculate – somewhere between 3,700 to 3,900 miles, depending on destination! They’ll be in familiar company, as a few other teams from Texas will be joining them in the tournament.
